A Chicago pizzeria chain famous for stuffed deep-dish pizza is moving ahead with its plans to open its first Dayton location in 2019.

Bath Twp. to split off from Fairborn for fire, EMS services

After more than 40 years, Bath Township plans to split off from Fairborn for its fire and EMS services, choosing to enter into contracts with three other townships instead. Bath Township currently has a fire and EMS levy in place that collects about $650,000 dollars annually, according to Jim Hill, attorney for Bath Township.

Donatos prepares for move to new location -

The new Beavercreek Donatos, formerly occupied by Clark's Pharmacy, is located just east of North Fairfield Road off of Dayton-Xenia Road across from the Kroger Gas Station. "At Donatos, we've been committed to the Beavercreek community since we opened 1994," said Todd Rogers, President of Viking Group Inc. and owner of the Greater Dayton Area Donatos Pizza restaurants.

County gives back to villages, townships - 2:09 pm updated:

Greene County News Greene County Commissioners Bob Glaser, Tom Koogler and Alan Anderson present checks to village and township officials Dec. 4 as part of a new Department of Development grant program. The board voted in October to create a grant fund through the Greene County Department of Development and disperse $500,000 to the county's cities, villages, and townships.

Over the past few decades, structures and buildings have changed, and firefighters have had to adapt their methods.

Women of Influence class has county residents -

Beavercreek resident Cassie Barlow, chief operating officer of Southwestern Ohio Council on Higher Education and former base commander at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and Yellow Springs residents Neenah Ellis, general manager of WYSO, and Kim Duncan, community philanthropist and former CEO and co-founder of Elements IV Interiors are among the six inductees. Also among the Women of Influence are Rabbi Karen Bodney-Halasz, senior rabbi at Temple Israel; Chris Saunders, community philanthropist and international advocate; and Sheri "Sparkle" Williams, a dancer with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company.

Residents open time capsule -

Greene County News Xenia's John Sale Manor residents open a 10-year-old time capsule Nov. 26. Soon they will create a new time capsule and bury it behind the apartment complex for another 10 years. Resident Doris Metz points at a photo in an old newspaper article.

Dayton woman with marijuana in bra arrested for trespassing: Brecksville Police Blotter

Trespassing, Brecksville Road: On Nov. 3, police were patrolling the Valor Acres property, which is currently under demolition, on Brecksville Road. An officer observed a man and woman walking in the courtyard.

Wright-Patt Credit Union offers 'limited' services to medical marijuana businesses

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio After careful consideration, Wright-Patt Credit Union's Board of Directors has given the green light to offer limited banking services to qualified businesses involved in medical marijuana. The Ohio Legislature House Bill 523 legalized medical marijuana use in Ohio by patients with 21 conditions, including those with cancer or chronic pain.

Sears closes Dayton Mall store

Sears has begun the process of shutting down some of its Miami Valley stores, closing its Dayton Mall location Sunday. Several Sears shoppers stopped by during the store's final hours at the Dayton Mall, loading their cars with clothing racks and discounted merchandise.

Tamir Rice Was Shot By Police 4 Years Ago Today

Loehmann and his partner drove up on the 12-year-old and shot him within 2 seconds. Rice died the next day at MetroHealth Medical Center.
