The Troy Mayors' Concerts, Inc. is pleased to announce the soloist for the Troy Mayors' Concert this summer. Alaina Saliba will be performing at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, on Prouty Plaza with the Dayton Philharmonic Band and Summer Chorus.

Watercolors open The Gallery at Lofino Plaza -

The Beavercreek Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture is opening of The Gallery at Lofino Plaza which will feature monthly exhibits of the community's visual artists of all ages. Beavercreek resident Yuki Hall is a watercolor artist who was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan.

Graduates receive OSU Alumni scholarships -

The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Greene County is awarding 14 scholarships for county high school seniors graduating in 2018 who will enter OSU in August. Greene County scholarship winners are: Jay Davidson, Rylie King, Megan Subr, and Carmen Williams from Beavercreek High School; Joseph Derrico, Kathleen Giffen, Andrew Haberlandt, and Adam Westergaard from Bellbrook High School; Ryan Dahlinghaus and Kathleen Scudder from Carroll High School; Kaitlin Belliveau from Cedarville High School; Thaliyah Cools-Lartique from Fairborn High School, Kyla Frye from Xenia High School and Jonah Trillana from Yellow Springs High School.

Perales unveils recommendations of BRAC Task Force -

The Base Realignment and Closure and Military Affairs Task Force recommended the creation of a state-level office of government and military affairs and a funding line in the state budget for investments. State Representative Rick Perales was joined May 29 by State Representative Laura Lanese to announce the findings of the BRAC Task Force.

Forty-five Legacy Christian Academy graduates will walk in commencement 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31 at Patterson Park Church in Beavercreek. In the Class of 2018, 41 students plan to move onto a two- or four-year college next year.

New disc course opens -

Greene County News Greene County Parks and Trails officially opened its new disc golf course at Karohl Park in Beavercreek. Cutting the ribbon are County Administrator Brandon Huddleson, County Commissioner Tom Koogler, Parks Commissioner Michelle Jenkins, Brian Crabtree from Hazy Shade Disc Golf, and Cedarville University professor of environmental science Dr. Mark Gathany.
